THURSDAY — LEADERSHIP, HISTORY & POWER

“In Mexico, the Federal Constitution of 1917 symbolized a new age for Mexicans in both political and religious matters.”

— Katherine Ryan-McIlhon

On February 5, 1917, Mexico adopted one of the most progressive constitutions of its era, stripping concentrated power from elites and redefining the social contract between leaders and the people. Every organization has an unwritten constitution governing who really holds power and what behavior is tolerated. And, if you haven’t codified it, it’s being written for you by habit, fear, or whoever speaks loudest.
