French Poet Paul Valéry (not Yogi Berra) famously remarked that “The future, like everything else, is no longer quite what it used to be.” Neuroscientist Dean Burnett’s new book: The Idiot Brain: What Your Head Is Really Up To helps to explain this aphorism by observing that our brains defy logic and cause haphazard recall (thereby affecting our memories of what the future is/was/should be). For more about how your brain works (including the fascinating difference between fluid vs. crystalized intelligence) check out his book or listen to this podcast.
