This Technology Tuesday, consider the Amazon approach to meetings. Amazon forbids PowerPoints during meetings, requires that a “meeting memo” be prepared in advance of every gathering and then sets time aside for attendees to read the memo. Amazon believes that this approach “create[s] the context for… high-quality discussion.” And with a current market cap of $700B+ it’s hard to argue that Amazon’s internal meetings aren’t productive.
