40 years ago yesterday the Sony Walkman was released and sold a measly 3,000 units its first month. By the end of Month 2, however, the entire initial production run of 30,000 had been sold. Great ideas are always met with skepticism so the next time your vision gets smacked by the naysayer brigade remember the Walkman’s lukewarm reception… and then rock on.
