“If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun.”
– Katharine Hepburn –

Movies and newsreels filmed before 1950 often feature dialogue spoken with a peculiar affect known as the Mid-Atlantic accent. Technically, it’s not really an accent but a set of speech patterns taught by private preparatory schools and voice coaches during the first half of the 20th century. At the time it was considered a must for high class membership but today... well, it simply sounds like Old-Timey Speak. There will always be standards and rules imposed by others. The only question is whether you’ll get caught up with them only to eventually find yourself trapped inside an “Old-Timey” box.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Be strong. Lead well.
