The line “Many of us think of LinkedIn as the lamest social network” recently caught my eye because it’s true. We don’t use Linkedin to send backyard BBQ invites, initiate flame wars with strangers, undermine legitimate governments or send self-destructing pictures. Yet it’s an integral part of modern professional life. With this in mind, I encourage you to click here for the article “10 tips for making LinkedIn useful, even if you already have a job.”
The article has a good set of suggestions and I’d like to add an 11th: Loosen up. All too often folks on LinkedIn behave as if some great moderator in the sky will revoke their privileges unless they act like a boring drone. Stop it. Instead, have a little fun and let us know who you are and what you’re passionate about. I guarantee that it won’t hurt (much).
Have a great weekend.
