Significance or happenstance. It’s your call.

How often do we ascribe significance to something when it’s really just happenstance?

On the 4th of July I drove past Lewis Lake in the south of Yellowstone Park. As I did, a bald eagle appeared twenty feet beside me and paced my vehicle at eye-line for nearly a minute.

It would be easy to ascribe significance or meaning to this occurrence. Yes, it’s good fortune. Yes, I feel lucky to have been part of it. And yet…things just happen to all of us. All the time. We’re the ones that ascribe meaning and significance to these events.

Consider this as you ponder what’s recently happened in your world and what those events mean for you?
