I don’t often re-post my own material, but the subject of Imposter Syndrome continues to arise with the high-performers that I work with. So, back by popular demand, here’s my original note from three years ago on Imposter Syndrome:

Have you ever felt that you’re about to be exposed as a fraud? Rest assured that you’re not. Imposter syndrome affects at least of 70% of us, with high achieving individuals especially susceptible. So what should you do the next time these feelings of inadequacy rear their ugly head? First, acknowledge to yourself that almost everyone occasionally feels this way and then review HBR’s tips for combatting imposter syndrome. Finally, if that doesn’t work, there’s always Stuart Smalley’s daily affirmation. Because you’re good enough, you’re smart enough and doggone it, people like you!

Have a wonderful, imposter-free weekend!
