Consider the super hot song that’s now overplayed or the “must have” fashion of yesterday that you wouldn’t be caught dead in today. (Anyone still rocking their Hammer pants?) These are typical examples of what we think of when something has been over-hyped.

Yet there’s another type of hype fatigue which occurs when that “something” is over-hyped because it’s inherently great. Its quality leads to over-exposure followed by the inevitable fatigue. Here’s a thought: Does hype and over-exposure mean that “something” has run its course and should be discarded? Or, does the fact that it’s peaked provide an opportunity to double down and extract even more value? It’s your call.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Be strong. Lead well.
