It’s impressive when a writer or director is transparent about their plot structure. In essence, they’re saying “I know that you’re smart enough to know which plot devices I’m employing. So, I’m not going to attempt to outwit you. Instead, I’m asking you to place your trust in me. In exchange, I promise to deliver the goods.” Ultimately, this is what real leaders do. They get naked, ask for trust and work like crazy to deliver.
