“In an era when readiness is at the forefront of concerns and there is significant concern about escalated tensions with China, the opioid epidemic threatens American national security.”
– Lt. Col. Greg Gharst –

The ongoing opioid crisis hasn’t got much attention this past year but it’s still very real and affects both civilians as well as U.S. military personnel. And, with yesterday being Veterans Day, one study caught my eye as it projects that one in seven soldiers in a combat arms unit take opioids. For an overview of the entire opioid situation, as well as specific recommendations on actions that we can take, Click here for the article Opioid Misuse/Abuse by Soldiers and Veterans of the U.S. Army.
