In 1971, computer engineer Ray Tomlinson sent the very first email… and I’m pretty sure that the second email was sent by a Nigerian Prince. Regardless, in the 47 years since that first message, email has morphed into the ultimate, default communication app and, love it or hate it, it’s not going away any time soon. Two key findings for 2018: mobile open rates continue to rise while click-to-open rates fell with “recipients are becoming more discerning on what they click on.“
