The best leaders seek out and surround themselves with talent, then turn that talent loose in service of mission. U.S. Women’s Soccer Coach Jill Ellis is a leader on a mission and yesterday her team trounced Thailand 13-0 in their first match of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. When asked if the team should have backed off at some point, Coach Ellis said:

“For these players, four years now some of them have been working, some of them even longer. I don’t find it my job to go and harness my players and rein them in… This is a world championship.”
