Today we celebrate the life of one of our country’s great heroes, Mercury 7 astronaut and first American to orbit the Earth, John Glenn. Rocketing to an altitude of 162 miles, NASA wasn’t sure that he would survive his flight, but as Glenn himself said “There are times when you devote yourself to a higher cause than personal safety.”  So, my challenge to all risk-taking leaders is: What’s your higher cause?  Godspeed, John Glenn.
