To any non-chef, the above statement may seem counterintuitive. Yet dull knives are more dangerous than sharp ones as they’re more likely to slip and slide instead of cut.

The same principle holds true for any skill which is why musicians rehearse and the military constantly trains: When your knife is sharp, you increase your chances for success and decrease the risk to yourself and others.
