What does it take for something to become “classic?“ If you’re Coca-Cola, all it takes is massive consumer backlash to a new product launch followed by a quick course reversal. Throw in a touch of rebranding and away you go. Yet the failed launch of “New Coke” 36 years ago today offers another lesson: Shiny objects always shine brightest when seated next to a classic. Ponder that as you consider the original question and, whatever you do this weekend, make it Classic.
