The Japanese concept of musha-burui has no easy English translation as it’s the excited, anticipatory trembling that a samurai has before entering battle. Yet we’ve all experienced this feeling. In the West we might call it stress, jitters, or pre-game nerves… all of which fail to capture the true essence of the experience.
