Managing feels safe. Processes are followed, routines are celebrated and risk-taking is for “someone else.” Leadership, on the other hand, often feels unsafe. It involves stepping blindly into the unknown, sacrificing your traditional notions of accomplishment and convincing others that you’ll all figure it out together.

Fight the urge to return to “managing” and understand that the fear you’re feeling means that you’re growing. You’ve got this.
