On Mindfulness Monday we often focus on you, the individual… yet what about the way mindfulness benefits your team? Researchers at the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business found that “team mindfulness” may ease stress at work by decreasing interpersonal conflict and eliminating strong emotions and feelings of prejudgment. Dr. Lingtao Yu, the study’s lead author, hopes “to design an evidence-based team mindfulness program that organizations can offer.” Until they build it, though, Yu recommends that “teams may benefit from doing meditation or yoga together, and setting aside time to share experiences so that team as a whole becomes more mindful.
