Eighty years ago today the very first McDonald’s restaurant opened in San Bernardino, CA. And if you know the story of McDonald’s, then you also know that today’s Mickey D’s is nothing like Version 1.0. This iteration is a key part of the Golden Arches origin story as they identified a burgeoning consumer demand, moved rapidly to meet it and continued to refine their process and delivery. So today, as organizations in many industries contemplate a rapidly changing landscape, remember that if you’re able to identify a need and can move swiftly to engage then opportunity will abound.
