The next time you seek to modify or change a behavior start by asking yourself “How curious am I?” Acting curiously – as if you’re engaging with the behavior in question for the first time – taps into the “reward pathway” in your brain. Brewer notes that this pathway is much stronger than the willpower section, which he calls “the weakest part of the brain” and increases awareness of actual present value.
