Unless you’re channeling Ron Livingston’s character from Office Space, chances are that you find yourself constantly “doing” to feed your need to remain active. The Dutch understand that we’re not meant to be constantly busy which is why their culture has the concept of niksen. Niksen loosely translates as “doing nothing” but is more intentional than it sounds, allowing the individual to step back, disengage and create white space for themselves.
